Let me tell you about things that annoy me.
- Improper use of semicolons
- Missing periods
- Extra space
- Atrocious formatting
- Inconsistent atrocious formatting
- Not starting your first chapter on the correct page
- Using your usernames as your author names on the cover
- Not spacing your chapters correctly.
- Back and front pages are nowhere near industry standards
- Too many '-ly' words
- You gave him a name - f'ing call him by it!
- No. Show me.
- These are separate ideas - why are they in the same sentence?
- OMG with the commas!
- Really? You screwed up the apostrophe?
And that was episode one of Jezzy's Editing Exploits. And, honestly, I'm very glad to have these things on hardcopy because wow. I mean, the story is fine all in all it's just that the writing... yeah.
I'm hoping that they don't get ticked off just because I found a lot of stuff. Even if they do, I've gotten a lot of experience from the books.
(It's not like I hadn't read them before, it's just that I wasn't really writing things down and then I couldn't find my notes so I'm basically having to do it all again. And I'm finding a lot more this time. So, yeah. Ow. I just really hope this is appreciated and not seen as 'Well, we don't wanna work with you anymore because you're just being a bitch'. No, I'm not - I'm being a good editor. Which you clearly need.)
Anyway.
I'm getting worked up over something that hasn't happened and might not happen. So. That was my day, mostly. That and marketing ideas for things that aren't mine. And some things that are.
...
I'm basically planning on being JtHM when I'm older (Jezzy the Happy Mortician). Cannot stop laughing over how well that works out.
So... yeah.
As you can probably tell, I am very tired and I've only edited 32 pages today.
All in all, a productive and tiring day that has left me with a lot of work that I will be happy to fall asleep and ignore for a few hours.
Bye for now, guys. Sorry for the quick, slightly ranting update but, hey, NaNoWriMo starts soon!

Twenty-One Point Five: *excessive headdesk*
Renters.
That is the problem of the day.
Let me walk you through:
We had a renter (well, my mum had a renter) and said renter was nice but fairly consistently late on the rent. Not too long ago, we found out that people who we had not authorised were living there. They were told by the renter that mum rented to that he (said renter) owned the property.
So, they're gone now, through an official eviction notice.
But the house is trashed.
So now we have to:
- Clean up all the trash
- Fix the broken blinds
- Replace the carpet in all but the master bedroom (it's torn out of one back bedroom and a section of the hallway and there are bleach strains on everything)
- Fix the front and back doors
- Fix the water damage around the doors
- Fix the water tank
- Wrap the water tank's pipes
- Inspect absolutely everything
So, all in all, maybe about $3,000 in damage.
Oh, good. Oh, good!
*headdesk*
I'm done. We're all just done with renters. The house can sit on the market, for sale, until it rots and it would probably be better for it.
So.
That's how the second half of my day has been.
I'm going to go and try to write something. (And also try not to be annoyed by people on the internet who meant no harm and have absolutely nothing to do with me.)

You could pay me to stay here
but it'd have to be a whole hell of a lot.
So.
I'm in Darby, MT. And, no offense if you're from there, but it is a bore hole. And I'll be here for two weeks. I'm anxious and panicky and I know I'll be fine but right now all I wanna do is curl up and read and write fan stories for a series only a few other people know and drink iced coffee with cinnamon and play the piano.
*deep breath*
I'll be okay. I know I'll be fine but it's still nerve-wracking, you know?
The drive up was fun, though. Road construction and 'We're gonna keep you here until the pilot car comes back, twenty minutes from now' type of stuff. Also bugs. Bugs all over the windshield.
That and the first place we stayed at was... awful. I mean, Motel 6 level scuzzy. The floor was slanting. But then we found a nicer place to stay for the night and that made things a little easier. Plus, there was food nearby. I got a 12-inch vegetarian pizza (and promptly ate half of it).
My father might be down to see us before it gets too late tonight and I'm all nerve-bundle-y about that. He's only a few miles down the road so, yeah. I haven't seen him in a while but he's working at the local library so that at least gives us something to talk about - books.
The one school I want to go to has an exchange program set up with a university in Japan. I'm not sure you realise just how big of a deal that is for someone who is a quarter Japanese and has been wanting to learn about the language and culture for a while. But it's a big deal.
And of course all of this, school and family and writing and psychology, kind of hits me all at once and in fits and starts. That makes me panic for a while and then I calm down and get over it.
But that's about where I am for now. I might try to plan a story or something, just to take my mind off of things.
I'll check in once I stop feeling like running screaming from the room (or the window can be unlocked, so that's an option too).
This was rambling and kind of pointless so I'm gonna go try to do something productive. Bye, all~!

Moriarty
I'm in Moriarty. No, really. It's in New Mexico. Look it up.
Aside from that, I can hardly type because I just pulled about a 16k day. My hands are on fire. But I won. And I am too tired to even write a proper blog post about that. I'm also too tired to sleep. It's like I'm wired on exhaustion. I had a crying giggle-fit in the car earlier because I was so tired. Then I wanted to write about Greg and Terry from American Dad. Don't know why but my computer battery was almost dead so it didn't really matter why.
Anyway. As you can probably tell, I'm tired and not the most coherent right now so I'm going to wrap this up and probably curl up somewhere and whimper.
I'll catch you all up on things when I'm less brain-dead and can type without flinching and constantly missing keys.
Bye for now~

*SCREAMS*
Seriously. That's about how I feel right now.
Reasons?
1) Editing job came though. I signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and everything! I'll get the hard copy books soon so I can catch up and then I'll be working with them and askjdflsdj
2) On another awesome note, I think I've discovered the root of my obsession with psychotic characters. Yeah. Those are the kind of major life-discoveries I make at this time of night. But at least now I can see how one psychotic character led to my current obsession with psycho, scarily intelligent, gender-bending characters with screwed-up backstories. Huh. Yeah.
3) I have books and mum promised to help me organise my room. That might not seem like something to scream about but to me it is. I love organising things... because I am weird, apparently.
4) Less awesome note: Our air conditioner is frozen. Like 'ice on the pipes' frozen. In the middle of the desert. When it's 80 degrees in the middle of the night. The hell? Seriously:
See this? All this white? That's ice. Those pipes are supposed to be copper-coloured, like the one in the front. Here's another one, closer up:
This is insane. It also means that we have no AC for a while because it won't run when it's an ice cube. Obviously.
5) Camp NaNoWriMo. Which currently can be summed up as 'If you talk about my word count, I will put forks in you'. But getting better. Really. Getting better. I'm starting to see more of a plot than I thought I had which is so nice right now.
That's about it for right now. I'm going to try to get to at least something approximating my actual goal and then calm the hell down about that editing gig.
I hope you all have a great day and I will be back soon to ramble at you and spam you with pictures of things you probably don't care about ^^

Arizona
Yep. I'm in Arizona.
As such, I figured I should proceed to spam you all with pictures. Here I go:
See this? These are mountains as seen from the front windshield. I actually really like how this was kind of framed out by the car...
Also, mountains are BIG. 0.o
I also took a picture of the METROMINT bottle. This stuff is awesome, by the way. It tastes just like chocolate and mint :)
Now for the fun part: Playing 'How High Will the Temperature Climb?'
When we got into the real desert - what we consider the real desert - this was the reading:
Ick. But wait, it gets worse...
Closer, but no. Try again.
That's right! (Sorry for the blur.) Yep. It was an oven out there. And it didn't drop much by the time we actually got to the house. French the llama, that's hot!
The house is still really comforting though. My grandpa built a front porch on it an we all sat outside last night and talked and watched the jackrabbits. There were so many jackrabbits! :D
But it's nice to see my grandparents again. It's been about 2 months since I saw them last.
I've been locked in my room for a while today, trying to get some kind of caught up on Camp NaNoWriMo. Strangely, it seems to be working.
I'm also offering editing services... she says as a way of explaining the 'Hire Me' page. If anyone else has done NaNo - or any other WriMo - and has a project they'd like edited for a reasonable rate, send me a message. I always like helping artists ^^
I can't even believe my life at this point. I'll probably update again here soon and explain everything but for right now just... wow.
Okay. I'm gonna go write a little more and try to figure out some kind of list or schedule or something to keep me busy.
Until later, then~

. . .
Okay, here's how things stack up:
1) I haven't heard back on a certain beta-reading/editing project I was kind of really excited about and that's making me nervous. Everything's probably fine but I just really want to work on this and... ACK! I don't want to be annoying by sending too many messages but I don't have an answer and it's bothering me.
2) (Less serious, technically) I've restarted Camp NaNoWriMo. Why? Because I am a derp who is stressed about point 1 and can't focus. It is now a story about... I don't even know but the words are coming easier on this one so I'm rolling with it :D
3) I've restarted (at least in my own head) the self-published author thing. I've figured out that I don't really care about the money (even though it's nice to have). What I like is the fandom that small things gather - that and just the love of the work.
And 4) (so ranked because it's still in planning stages) I've been clicking away at a Word document filled with information on how authors who plan to self-publish can hire me as a beta-reader/editor with prices at a reasonable level and negotiable based on volume of work and the client's ability to pay. I love to help artists who chose not to go through major companies. That's a very brave thing to do! And it just might be the future of the industry.
But yeah. I'm stressed and I hope I didn't lose that job - I'm sick over that thought, by the way - and I'll be starting school soon (for psychology) and... just yeah. Stress and happiness all rolled into one right now. I'm leaving tomorrow or the next day to start this whole thing and it's just... insane. This all happened amazingly fast and somehow, yes I'm stressed (I wonder how many times I've used that word in this thing?) but I'm not as freaked out about it as I thought I'd be.
Huh.
I'm okay. And it's a weird and wonderful feeling - to be okay.
I'm very jittery inside right now so I'm going to go write for a little while and then we'll see where we are in the morning. *waves*

Apparently,
My camera doesn't record audio. That sucks. Because I can't vlog. Well, I can, you just won't be able to see/hear me, depending on what I do. Which is fine for a while but what if I want to show off? It also records in a file type that I can't edit in WMM so no edits, no intro... it's just really disappointing.
Oh, well. I'll figure out something. I always do. Maybe I can record the audio track with Audacity? *thinking out loud*
BUT. Upside. I did manage to get a few pictures for you guys. Like this one of the whole GothNo cake (minus the bottom tier because it's not done yet)...
And this one of the topper...
And this one of the Skull Groom, Ichabod, and his orange-banded top hat ^^
Isn't it cool? I think it's cool.
But then again, I'm prone to thinking odd things are cool. Like to me bug-eyed zombie dogs are cool (and really cute).
What else? That was really all I coherently had for this one. Just wanted to show off the cake, really. Oh and I keep getting compliments on my little excerpts on the GothNo site and I'm like *looks around* Really? I don't suck? Have you ever heard the old robot saying 'Does not compute'?
But apparently people like me. And that's pretty awesome. I like things that are awesome.
If you haven't noticed the top bar on this blog (the one that says 'on my site', 'on LiveJournal', 'on the forums' and 'on tumblr') please to be noticing it now. Those are links. They go awesome places. There will eventually be an 'on YouTube' thing if I can get the camera situation worked out.
obeyalice has been updated with the NaNo project title under 'Works in Progress'. Notice that it's a series. Yes, I really do plan this far ahead. I don't mean to; it just happens.
I've gotten a lot more social since I started writing more, you know? It's weird. I'm... chatty about things. I've never been chatty before. I've never wanted to vlog or make things before. Now there are all these ideas in my head. I kind of love it ^.^
So, yeah. I'm going to go and think over a few things for NaNo and that party we're planning over at Arrow of Eloquence (which I'll spazz about here later, don't you worry).
I still have stuff to make for the festival (which I wanted to record for at least a few minutes. ACK). But that needs to get done. The GothNo community is really good at keeping me afloat, though and I'm really grateful for them. *mental hugs*
And I need to wrap this up so,
Bai-bai, DEATH~
(^^^^ If you get this reference, I <3 you. Just sayin')

Hello again...
and I do apologise for disappearing like that.
Things seem to be going well and I'm just constantly on edge right now because of that. I don't want it to go away, you know? My sleep schedule should probably be dragging me out and making me really tired but it's not. I actually feel a little better.
Karen (friend of mine) has kind of disappeared off the face of the internet map but that happens to her when something good happens too, so I'm not that worried. She just can't seem to keep things up to date... Poor thing.
Otherwise, things are going decently. I'm a little tired but a part of me wants to go get lunch at the little coffee shop we go to sometimes. Not sure what I'll do just yet. I keep thinking about the coleslaw wraps they have but I'm just so lazy. :/ AugNo anthology story has the first draft down, so that's awesome. Only now I have to edit. Blegh.
What else? Oh yeah, I only have three more doughnuts to make (in the first colour). I'm disproportionately happy about that. ^^ Aside from simple things (like changing my window glass colour to red, making my room look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland just by closing the (red) curtains and having a really awesome (destroyed city) desktop background) nothing much is going on.
So, yeah. I will now return to writing down whatever pops into my head in an effort to boost my word count. Bai-bai~

Hey, look, I'm not dead!
I'm sorry guys, I totally forgot I was even on-line for a little while. ^^;
It's just one of those days where you just want to punch someone repeatedly in the face and then set their car on fire. It's no one in particular and everyone in general, you know?
Watching roommate eat a Lemon Head. She'd never eaten one before. I feel kind of bad but lol, still XD I ate one and it sparked an idea for a later scene in one of the books so that's awesome. (Oh, the power of candy. It is both great and fearsome in the world of writers. I mean, what?)
I try to have something to say in these things but I've been so busy lately that I don't really have anything. Just that I'm still alive, getting distracted by Minecraft and still a little behind on... well, everything at the moment. So, I'm going to go back to typing and hopefully get a little closer to where I need to be.
My mind just will not stay put so I'm project-hopping a lot this month. (3 short stories, 2 main novels, worldbuilding for another series and all the stuff for the festival in town.) Hopefully that won't come back to bite me...

JulNoWriMo Part 1 - Jezzy Sucks at Writing
She does. Or rather 'Jezzy Sucks at Writing on Schedule'.
Jezzy's also writing from a cabin by a lake and really wanting to go swimming even though it's night time. (Read: Jezzy's imagining she's in a cabin by a lake with the rest of writers in Camp because she's actually felling pretty bad and for some reason that triggers her speaking in third-person.)
She has close to 2,000 words done on both her projects and that's good at least. She's also hungry even though she just ate. And also there's the issue of her wanting to make props. Like, sci-fi props for no real reason other than coolness factor. But that would involve getting things (probably from Wal-Mart) and spending money she doesn't have on interlocking floor mats, heat guns and spray paint. So she probably won't be doing that.
Anywho... I think I need to pick a project for right now. When I feel myself slowing down or getting stuck, I'll switch because otherwise I'm just going to wind up bouncing back and forth for no real reason and not getting anything done. Plus I think I might need a new computer soon, which sucks because I really like my little Toshiba.
I want to study. I don't know why but I just really want to study... like I have a class or something. Maybe I have a writing class? *gasp* Maybe I have a writing class I have to keep up with while I'm at Camp. Maybe-Maybe there's a language class in there too. And it's a really progressive school, like a performing arts college that gives you your class list but you're pretty much responsible for everything not taught by an instructor at a set time, you know, since they can gauge your work ethic that way. (This is the way most of my ideas come to me, by the way. Enjoy your little peek into this process 'cause...it's a mess.) And-and there are only a few classes that have a set time since everyone works at their own pace.
Now is so not the time for new ideas but the New Idea Program is still running in the background so I might have to go and copy down the code real quick so I don't lose it.

My stomach hurts and I hate everything.
I do. Right now, I really truly do.
Blogger ticks me off, I'm behind on my word count and I kind of want to hurt someone. But I'll be fine. In a couple hours, I'll be right back to normal and probably have no memory of this event.
Just so you know:
My right ankle feels like it's going to give out whenever I walk.
I'm hungry but I don't really want to eat because of the stomach pain.
I kind of just want to curl up and cry.
I really want to sleep.
I can't sleep; I have writing to do.
I want to make a proper bracelet with a clasp, not just with the ends tied together.
I often find myself writing about things that should give me nightmares but don't.
Maybe the 'Queen of Hearts' should be a crossdresser. <-random moment
But while I might have to deal with this kind of crap in real life, I will not put up with it in the city of Ink-Slingaria! *sigh* So, now I'm going back to work. On what, I don't know, but something.
